Game features

Clusters and cascades

There are no paylines in Squeeze, so wins are simply formed by landing a cluster of matching symbols. Any group of five or more of the same symbol along horizontally or vertically adjacent reels will award a win. Winning symbols get squeezed until they pop, removing them from the reels and causing a cascade. These cascade wins can lead to chain reactions if you get lucky enough.

Wilds

The “W” symbol is the game’s wild. As you’ll know if you play video slots, this symbol acts as a substitute for any other of the symbols on the reels, helping to form winning clusters.

Bounce back multiplier

On random wins, symbols can bounce back as they’re squeezed, adding to a win multiplier. This multiplier increases by one for each bounce back before resetting once no new wins are made.

Feature meters

To the side of the reels is a set of four coloured meters. Each successive cluster win or bounce back increases the meter for its matching colour by one bar, and filling the meter completely will activate a feature. Alternatively, landing a win that includes a super charged symbol will immediately fill the matching meter.

Feature effects include swaps, which swaps two symbols on the grid a total of three times. There’s also the make big effect, which increases a random symbol to 3x3 or 4x4 size. The upgrade feature upgrades a random set of symbols to the next highest rank and the spawn wilds feature replaces up to six symbols with wilds.

Free drops

Landing three bonus scatters anywhere on the reels will trigger the free drops game. You start out with five free drops, but you earn more each time you land new scatters. Not only that, but your existing features and feature meter progress will carry over between drops, meaning your multiplier can keep increasing and new features can be added.

If you land three bonus symbols with at least one super bonus scatter, you’ll trigger the super bonus round. Here, at least one feature meter will be filled before each free drop.

Sweet Bonanza

My verdict

I really love the creative style of Squeeze and the interesting features that it offers. The feature meter is a lot of fun when it fills up, and the bounce back multiplier can trigger on any win. I wasn’t lucky enough to trigger the bonus round, but I still had a lot of fun and will be coming back for more.
