Raw iGaming is still a little wet behind the ears, but they've wasted no time in challenging the entire industry to do better. Their respectable but growing collection of slots, table games, and crash games is truly buzzing thanks to ingenious, patent pending mechanics and never-before-seen features that frankly we've been dying to sink our teeth into.
They're here, they're Raw - let's take a bite!
Who is Raw iGaming?
Raw iGaming is a relatively young developer of online casino games that launched in March 2021 with the goal of creating something that "stands out in the sea of sameness". The group has offices in the UK, Spain, Argentina, and Malta, making them an international operation. Thanks to an unstoppable drive and a unique approach to game development, Raw iGaming currently offers their suite of titles to a total of 72 online casinos in 62 countries worldwide. The provider's games can be found from Australia and Azerbaijan to Venezuela and Vietnam, and they're most popular in the countries hosting the company's offices. That said, there are still some interesting pockets of popularity in places like Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Ontario, Canada.
With such a broad reach, it goes without saying that these guys have done their homework when it comes to regulation, as they currently hold licences issued by numerous respected industry authorities including the UK Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority, the Swedish Spelinspektionen, the Danish Spillemyndigheden, and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
In terms of the games themselves, Raw iGaming has a respectable collection of 47 games, the vast majority of which are slots (43 at PlayOJO!), with the rest including instant, crash, and even a couple of live roulette games. Since their first UK game releases of Wheels of Rock, Journey to Chaos, and The Magnificent Super Slice back in April 2022, Raw has been pretty consistent with its new game drops, launching them in twos and threes just about every month and showing no signs of stopping!
Raw iGaming slots
What makes Raw iGaming's slots different from the rest is their ingenious game design: the provider currently has two patents pending for their SuperSlice and SuperTracks registered slot mechanics, which we'll check out in more detail shortly. The group's goal is to really shake up the industry, moving away from the bog standard 5x3 reel setup and towards a more innovative way to play (trust me, some of these slots are insane!).
However, it's not just the mechanics of these slots that makes them appealing. Raw's plethora of themes covers everything from retro animated series like Popeye to Japanese ninjas, ancient Rome, Greek mythology, swashbuckling pirates, the wild west, Irish luck, fishing, and sweets. It's said often, but these guys really do have something for pretty much everyone!
Other Raw iGaming games
While Raw iGaming does focus most of its attention on slots creation, they do have a small handful of other games in their portfolio, three of which you'll find at PlayOJO. Blitz Roulette is a fast-paced real time automatic roulette game that features one to five random multipliers of 50x to 600x per spin of the wheel. Super Chance Roulette takes this concept even further with a live game show that sees 14 to 22 Super Chance slices highlighted on each spin. It's not just straight up bets that can benefit here: splits and corners will also qualify you for the bonus round and the chance to win up to 7,200x your bet.
And for something completely different, Hugo Up and Away is a fun little crash game that's based on the troll character you might recognise from 90s after school TV. Watch the little guy fly his plane past villain Scylla's nasty traps and bail him and your winnings out before you both run out of luck!
Raw iGaming game features
Determined to rock the industry to its core, Raw iGaming focuses on creating really unique game mechanics by moving away from traditional reels and rows and throwing in mind-bending new designs to explore. Let's take a look at the array of absorbing features Raw has unleashed on the slots world.
Super Symbols
While it's not unusual to see slots with larger than normal symbols, especially on centre reels, Raw iGaming has pushed the envelope on this concept, creating massive Super Symbols that just keep on growing. In Almighty Lollipop, for example, various coloured sweets fall into the 5x6 grid, with adjacent matches of four or more merging into a Super Symbol and extra symbols joining on and expanding to make it even bigger. Super Symbols can also randomly upgrade to higher value symbols for even greater payout power.
Reel Splits and Reel Clones
Almighty Lollipop is also a great example of Raw's Reel Splits mechanic, which sees the grid increasing in size to incorporate additional reels, entirely at random. In this case, you can get up to four extra reels this way. During the game's free spins feature, Reel Splits are called Reel Clones as they are identical copies of adjacent reels, which can be instrumental in creating those win-boosting Super Symbols.
Dynamic Ways
In the ancient Rome themed Ave Caesar, the unique Dynamic Ways mechanic means the height of each reel changes with every spin. The result is a slot with a minimum of 243 ways and a maximum of 3,125 ways.
SuperTracks
One of Raw iGaming's pending patents, SuperTracks was first showcased in SuperTracks Railways, which launched in November 2022, before it featured in 2023's Aztec SuperTracks. In SuperTracks Railways, the game takes the form of a grid with four trains lined up along the bottom. Blocks with various track arrangements fall into place on each spin and your goal is to line up the tracks for the trains to run along. The further up the grid you get, the higher your payout.
Aztec SuperTracks takes the mechanic in a slightly new direction, with four heroes waiting for the right paths into the grid in search of gems, hoping to avoid nasty traps and the wrath of the zapping Aztec heads.
SuperSlice
The other of Raw's pending patents, SuperSlice featured in all three of the developer's trio of initial April 2022 game releases: Wheels of Rock, Journey to Chaos, and The Magnificent SuperSlice. Since then, several additional SuperSlice slots have been released, including Mad Joker SuperSlice Zones and Blackbeard's SuperSlice Rings. The SuperSlice concept basically swaps traditional vertical reels with a round pizza setup, with each spin resulting in a different number of slices. In Mad Joker SuperSlice Zones and Lucky McGees SuperSlice Swirl, instead of matching symbols along paylines, your aim is to land on one of the winning slices after the wheel spins.
In Blackbeard's SuperSlice Rings, the pizza analogy is replaced by concentric rings, with winning positions highlighted by lines running along the N, S, E, and W compass points from the centre.
Walking Wild Reel Stretch
The familiar spinach-eating sailor plays a pivotal role in Raw's Popeye and Olive Oyl slot, and not just as the game's walking wild. As Popeye walks his way off the reels to the left with every spin, if there's a can of spinach visible, he'll pop over there and punch upwards, creating another position on the reel for the next spin.
SuperStretch
The SuperStretch feature is very similar to Reel Stretch and is best showcased in the ninja-themed slot Rise of Shinobi. When the Shinobi is acting as a walking wild, temple symbols trigger a reel expansion, but here they can expand downwards as well as upwards. A similar effect can be seen in Forge of Hephaestus, where the hammer symbol can cause reels to expand upwards to a maximum of 10 rows.
Scatter Magnets
Another unique Raw iGaming feature, Scatter Magnets are special symbols that attract regular symbols of the same type and can be found in grid-based games like Scatters Matter. In this game, a Scatter Magnet will collect 4 or more gems of the same colour, resulting in pays.
The basics
You've got almost the entire range of Raw iGaming's collection to explore at PlayOJO, which includes 43 slots, two live roulette games, and one crash game, with most of them available to try in demo mode.
You can expect a pretty decent range of bet sizes, with games generally starting at 10p per spin and reaching £5 per spin at the top end of the scale (although there are some outliers, eg. Super Chance Roulette at £5,000 max bet). Payouts also vary from 1,000x to 25,000x your bet, with RTPs ranging from 94% to 95.6%.
Raw's slots sport a good range of shapes and sizes too, from the 7x7 grid layout of Scatters Matter, to the set 10 and 50 paylines of Big Money Bass 6 and Time of Chronos, respectively, to 243, 1,024, and 3,125 ways to win. Many slots are variable in size, such as Popeye and Olive Oyl, Rise of Shinobi, and Ave Caesar, the latter of which has changing reel sizes, resulting in pays ranging from 243 ways to 3,125 ways in a single spin. And don't forget the funky circular designs of those SuperSlice slots!
Exploring these unique games at PlayOJO is even better value for money thanks to OJOplus, which means you get money back for every bet you make. Almost all of our Raw iGaming slots are rated the maximum 3 pluses, which means you get 0.2% back on every real money spin.
Popular Raw iGaming games
If you're wondering where to start, here's a quick rundown of four Raw iGaming slots that best showcase the provider's unique approach to game mechanics.
Scatters Matter
Already proving popular with OJOers, Scatters Matter plays on a 7x7 grid that fills with different coloured gems, which can only be collected if you also land Scatter Magnets of the same colour. Wins trigger cascades and multiplier blocks catapult your winnings upwards. Scatter Magnets become sticky in the free spins feature, multipliers rise higher, and Blank Exploders crack open the empty blocks to reveal even more gems.
Rise of Shinobi
Join the Japanese ninja as he perfects his skills in the temple, starting on a standard 5x3 grid and progressing to a monster-sized 5x11 reel set thanks to the slot's SuperStretch feature. The Shinobi will slice wins out of nothing at random and expand to a full height walking wild in the free spins feature.
Joker and the Thief
Forget everything you know about slots and think pizza slices in this fascinating game featuring SuperSlice mechanics. Each spin will result in up to 12 slices showing in the circular play area, each with a different symbol, then the whole thing will spin and the pointer at the top will determine your winning symbol. Diamonds, Bars, and 7s will fill the respective free spins meters, and you can collect your accumulated winnings at any point by hitting the Collect button. Choose wisely, though, because landing the thief will send you right back to the start! There's also a sequel: Joker and the Thief 2.
Big Money Bass
Yep, it's Raw iGaming's answer to one of the industry's most popular slots. Big Money Bass features a variety of colourful fish along with a range of tasty multipliers that are gathered up Hold and Respin style. Help the fisherman land his catch with a little input from Berserker Fish and Dynamite for explosive results.
Top reasons to play Raw iGaming slots

OJO's final word on Raw iGaming
Raw iGaming is young, fresh, and giving the industry veterans a real run for their money with a range of games that turn traditional slots on their head.
