Crazy Time is a live game show from Evolution Gaming, and you’ll probably recognise the wheel of fortune format, as it’s been a staple of casinos and TV shows worldwide for decades. Like other live games shows, Crazy Time is a mix of real world gaming equipment, digital enhancements and live hosts.

Game Info

Each regular spin lasts roughly 30 seconds, and rounds that end in a bonus feature taking around a minute and a half, so there’s a nice relaxed pace to the game. There are several live game shows based around the wheel of fortune format - Dream Catcher and Monopoly Live are great examples - but Crazy Time is #1 in this new category. In the features section of this Crazy Time review, I’ll explain why.

There are 54 segments on the wheel, most of which are numbers that represent the payout odds, which means you can choose to bet on segments like “1” that pay out like red and black in roulette, or you can bet on “10” which pays out 10 to 1 odds.

There are also 9 bonus segments, which means the features land roughly 1 in every 6 spins on average. In my latest gaming session on this Crazy Time live casino game, I saw plenty of bonus action during my 20 minutes of play.

The Crazy Time game has an impressive range of bets that suit different player types, and the minimum bet is only 10p, which I like as it took me a little while to get into the game, and also to experience a few of the bonus features.

Payouts can be huge too, with up to 20,000 times your stake possible in one of the 4 features, and a reported £500,000 maximum win, though that will depend on betting the maximum, which comes with my usual advice about playing safely and only betting what you are comfortable spending.

Crazy Time has many bonus features and for me, they are the coolest part of this game. When you see the bonus features in action, you instantly get how they work, though they take a bit of explaining without footage, so strap yourself in.

Top Slot Multiplier

See that little 2-reel 1-row slot above the wheel? That’s the Top Slot, and before every spin of the main wheel, it’ll may give you the chance to multiply anything you win from the main wheel, including its bonus games. The multiplier reel on the top slot must line up on the centre win line to be valid. No alignment? No multiplier.

Coin Flip

You’ll see a coin with a multiplier on each side, and it will be flipped to reveal your prize. Occasionally you’ll get a Rescue Flip, where the game takes pity on you for winning such a small prize, and gives you another flip. How kind!

Cash Hunt

This one is a wall of multipliers concealed behind symbols. You get to pick a symbol by pointing your cannon and firing. Once the timer runs out, all multipliers on the wall will be revealed and you’ll discover what you’ve won.

Pachinko

In Pachinko, my favourite of the Crazy Time bonuses, a puck is dropped by the host into the top of a wall. The puck makes its way down the wall, bouncing off pegs as it goes, and lands on one of the multipliers at the bottom.

If it lands on a DOUBLE, another puck is dropped and the prizes are doubled. Sometimes you’ll get a second chance if the puck lands on one of the lower prizes, and the original prize becomes the lowest possible prize for the next puck drop. The top prize for this game is a big 10,000x.

Crazy Time

Land on the Crazy Time segment and you’ll get a spin of a special wheel full of multiplier segments. There are Double and Triple segments which multiply any prize you win on the next spin, and the top prize is a hefty 20,000x.

Monopoly Live

Evolution’s Monopoly-flavoured wheel was one of the first games to feature augmented reality. In Monopoly Live, Mr Monopoly pops up occasionally alongside the live host during the game’s superb bonus feature.

Big Bad Wolf Live

Quickspin’s 2023 release mixes a wheel of fortune with their iconic Big Bad Wolf online slot, so you get many of the same bonus features. The AR wolf is a nice touch and though the max win is just 700x, it’s a game I have really enjoyed playing.

My verdict

Crazy Time has is all – the drama of the wheel, a vibrant theme, some excellent vintage fairground games and a couple of monster max wins in the bonus games. It all comes together into a game that lives up to its name.
