I spent 11 years in the online poker industry, watching the drama unfold in No Limit Texas Hold’em tournaments and cash games, and I loved every minute. It’s a fascinating game with all sorts of interesting dynamics, and when I saw that Casino Hold’em had launched as a live casino game, I wanted to find out if the drama in a multiplayer game translates to a game against the house.

Casino Hold’em became more and more popular in the UK in 2023 as well, so it was definitely the right time to explore this version of poker in the OJO Show podcast.

In the show, I look at the brief history of hold’em, the kinds of payouts offered in Casino Hold’em and how likely it is that you’ll win a 100 to 1 Royal Flush. I also cover the basics of how to play (check out Sarah’s excellent recent Casino Hold’em guide if you want more detail) and look at the most important decision – Call or Fold – and explain my rule of thumb when it comes to making that double-sized call bet.

If you prefer watching instead of listening, here’s a quick explainer we made recently that covers the fundamentals you’ll need to get started.

If you like Casino Hold’em, there’s a Texas Hold’em Bonus Poker game that’s worth a look too. And I’ve heard there’s a 2 Hand Casino Hold’em in the works from Evolution Gaming which should be fun if and when it lands at PlayOJO.

Enjoy!
