The tips and advice shared are for the purposes of fun. Each outcome of Crazy Time is completely random and these tips won’t change your odds of winning.
Crazy Time is the most successful Live Game Show in the UK, and easily the most popular game show at PlayOJO. That’s why I want to share some Crazy Time tips, so more of my fellow gamers can get the most from this pretty remarkable casino game.
If you haven’t played the game before, read my Crazy Time review first, so you get a flavour for this wheel of fortune style game.
If you’re new to this type of game, there’s a lot going on when you first fire it up, and it helps to know how the wheel works and the link between the main game and the bonuses. Another way to get up to speed is just play the game, and although there’s no demo the min bet is just 10p.
Tip 1: Find the best value
There are 8 different Return To Player payout percentages in Crazy Time, ranging from 94.41% to 96.08%. If you’re going to be playing a lot of Crazy Time, or you’re just a stickler for value, then focusing on the Crazy Time bets with the highest RTPs makes a lot of sense.
In this case, the “1” segments are not only the most common segment on the wheel, but also the bet with the lowest house edge. The “2” segments are next best with an RTP of 95.95%, and the RTPs get a little lower the less common the segments.
Tip 2: Hunt for the biggest prizes
Crazy Time is like roulette on steroids – you can place even money and 2 to 1 bets galore if that’s your bag. But there are also much bigger payout odds up for grabs, if you know where to look. All 4 bonus games have much bigger odds, with Pachinko offering multipliers of up to 10,000x and Crazy Time boasting a max win of 20,000x.
Obviously with odds that big, you’re going to have to get super lucky – not just landing on that segment to enter the bonus round, but then hitting the perfect sequence of results too. All you can do is put yourself in the best position to enter the game to begin with. I can’t see why you’d play Crazy Time and only bet “1”. The bonus games are where all the fun is, in my humble opinion.
Remember you can only participate in a bonus round if you’ve placed a bet on a bonus segment and that segment is chosen. That’s why if my preferred total bet for a round of Crazy Time is £2, I’ll split that 4 ways between the bonus bets. That gives me the best possible chance to hit a bonus round, and hopefully the Top Slot will boost the winnings for my bonus round now and then too.
Tip 3: Understand how often the bonus rounds happen
There are 54 segments on the Crazy Time wheel. 4 Coin Flips, 2 Cash Hunts, 2 Pachinkos and 1 Crazy Time. Why aren’t there an equal number? Well the bonus rounds have different payout odds. The Coin Flip bonus is a quick game with mostly single-digit multipliers, so the most you can realistically win is 10x. The Crazy Time bonus, on the other hand, lasts much longer, and has base multipliers of up to 250x as well as DOUBLE and TRIPLE segments. Look at Crazy Time as the lottery, with extremely big but very rare wins.
If you bet £1 on the Crazy Time segment, you can expect to play the bonus round 1 in 54 spins on average, though in practice it could be 1 in 100 or even more. The Coin Flip round, on the other hand, will come up once every 13 spins, give or take.
Betting on all 4 of the bonuses, as I myself do, means you are covering 9 segments of the wheel, which means you should land a bonus 1 in 6 spins, on average. That’s not long to wait for the most fun part of the game. In the last 49 spins I saw (that’s the number of previous results you can track in the game’s Statistics feature) there were 12 bonus games (1 in every 4 spins) which is more than average.
As you can see in the screenshot above from my latest session, there’s a circular shortcut button in between the bonus cards while betting is open, that lets you bet on all 4 with one tap. But sometimes, given Coin Flip is 4 times more likely to happen than Crazy Time, I might change my bet sizes so that I have more on Coin Flip and less on Crazy Time. That way, I still cover all 4 bonus rounds but I weight my stake in favour of the games I’m more likely to experience in my session.
That’s your lot – the most useful Crazy Time tips I can share from my many hours playing this entertaining game. Have fun!
FAQ
Because Crazy Time is a live casino game with a house edge and no skill whatsoever, there is no Crazy Time betting strategy that will improve your chances of winning. You can increase your likelihood of winning a prize by betting on “1”, which has the most segments on the wheel. However that bet still has a house edge, and therefore it’s impossible to make a profit in the long run.
It’s possible to guarantee a payout on a spin of Crazy Time, by covering all segments of the wheel. However with 8 bets to choose from, that would cost you £8 for a £1 stake, and if either of the “1”, “2” or “5” segments were picked, you’d make a net loss. Crazy Time is an online casino game with an RTP of roughly 96%, so although you can ‘win’ a prize every time, you cannot make a profit every time.
The biggest possible payout in the Crazy Time game is £500,000. In multiplier terms, the biggest win is 20,000x, though that is only available in the Crazy Time bonus round itself.
